Artful Relief

PAR_48_CoverPublic Art Review, a bi-annual publication covering contemporary public art, focuses its summer issue on “the innovative ways artists around the world are using public art to address and support the health of individuals, communities and ecosystems.”

The issue explores the role of public art in disaster relief and preparedness, taking lessons from Hurricane Sandy, Katrina, the Japan Tsunami and the Queensland Floods. Select articles from the issue are available online here. Below are tear sheets of an article called “The Art of Healing,” featuring Sandy Storyline and other creative responses to disaster.
