This is José Herrarte. He lost 30 years of his life after Hurricane Sandy. He collected cameras and cars. All his cars were destroyed along with the first floor of his home. He did not evacuate during the storm and watched the waves at his front door rise to 10 feet high. Luckily, he has a second floor. I gave him bottled water and cans of soup and beans. I brought him back batteries so that he could listen to his radio & power his flashlight. He had no idea what was going on beyond his block.
